Organic Semi-Dried Kaki from Yamanashi - Mitsurokka

About Mitsurokka - Semi-Dried Kaki (Persimmon)

Kaki is a seasonal delicacy in Japan, during the autumn months.  It is eaten raw, but also traditionally been peeled and dried.  We save them for New Year's feast and put on top of our Kagami-mochi (decorative mochi cake).

Dried Kaki becomes soft and very sweet.  There are many way to make dried Kaki, and you can see some products with white sugar covering the whole of the fruit, some becoming quite firm with a date-like chewiness, and some, like the product we are offering, soft, tender and retaining some freshness.

Kaki is full of health benefitting vitamins and minerals, and is an ideal gift for fruit lovers and health conscious friends.
